5 Stars Tears of joy.
This tv has crazy picture quality.I waited 1.5 years before pulling the trigger on this bad boy.I,m so happy on this purchase. Started off looling at lcd TV’S Then I went to my friend Roy’s house and he had both plasma and lcd ,Ecxept the lcd was 1080p and plasma was a 720 both samsung. The 720 plasma was superior in all circumstantces in my test.

Out of the box try looking for Hd channels it will make a huge diffrence in performance.

Xbox 360 is jaw dropping .Call of Duty modern warfar 2 is so Good that my kids were just erupting when we started to play a game we allready owned. Remember to save all 1080 stations to favorites and we had to set Xbox 360 at 1080 over low factory settings.Low Quality video will produce low quality picture.

Big smiles

5 Stars Best Bang For Your Buck
I got this TV from Amazon at $899.00. And I couldn’t be more pleased.

First off, the TV has an amazing picture. It may look blurry if you don’t give it a high-def signal, but I can attest that the picture is amazing. The first thing I watched was Shrek the Halls and I was amazed at the detail I could see in the wood of Shrek’s outhouse for example. Donkey’s hairs on his back. I just sat there and watched in awe!

I wanted to test the sound and the TV is loud enough for my basement. I was going to buy a new Onkyo receiver to go with it, but now I think I can wait because the TV’s two speakers are enough for now. Most of the time I have the volume at 20%.

I like how the TV has an anti-burn-in mode too, so just in case your video game burns an image into the screen, you just run the anti-burn-in process and take care of it. I think it’s unlikely you get burn-in with today’s TVs, but just in case–there’s something there to help.

The picture brightness is great. I heard someone say that you should keep your plasma pretty dim for its first 30 hours of use to prevent burn-in. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I have it at 30% brightness right now and it’s plenty to see what’s going on. I will start bringing up the brightness this weekend for the Big XII Title Football game–but until then, 30% brightness is more than sufficient.

Cons: I wish there were an easy button to switch between sources on the TV. Like a HDMI1 button or a Component 2 button. There are five colored buttons on the remote that I’m not sure what they do–maybe they can be programmed for the sources…we’ll see.

I can’t think of any more cons. Some said the TV gets hot. I’ve been trying to monitor that and I haven’t felt that it is any hotter than normal. I guess people are used to cold TVs? It gets warm, but not “hot.”

As a comical side note, I’ve been scared about power usage for plasmas, since I hear they use so much more than an LED or LCD. I expected my lights to dim or a fuse to blow after I plugged it in and turned it on. Nothing happened.

I love this TV. It’s a great buy. And it’s a Samsung. Well done, Samsung.

5 Stars Great picture, a great deal
I purchased this from Crutchfield for $899, no tax, no shipping charges. It was delivered to my door. I hooked it up to the hi-def cable box, my surround amp via optical cable and to my blue ray via HDMI. It is an amazing picture! My Samsung blue ray bd-p3600 has a wireless internet connection for Netflix, Pandora and PC streaming. The PC streaming is not working yet, there is some router settings that need to be adjusted and I am clueless. Otherwise, all is amazing; black blacks, details and true, rich colors. I am a very happy camper and so are my friends who now want to come here for movie night.

5 Stars Man O’ Man what a TV
Ok I was worried because there wasn’t any other reviews on this TV. Still took a chance cause how can you beat a 50″ HDTV 1080P for $899. no shipping no tax.

Pilot delivered it and even offered to set up for me, but I wasn’t ready for the setup so I declined.

Hook-up was a breeze. I have Direct-TV HD and used the HDMI hook-ups and connected the fiber optic audio to my Pioneer 7.1 channel THX receiver. I hooked up my Sony 400 disc DVD player also with HDMI and fiber audio line.

I placed my leather recliner 10 feet back. Got the remote and turned those suckers on. First I watched HD news and could literally count every blemish on the news people faces. Couric needs to get a new makeup artist.

Then I switched to Discovery HD, I literally jumped when a tiger chased an Antelope through the grasslands, hell you could see the spurt of blood as he sank them fangs. I turned on the DVD player and watched Scrooge and it was fabulous.

The picture was outstanding,so to test it further I turned all the lights on and opened the sun room shades at noon. The picture didn’t change at any angle. No more fighting over the middle seat in this house.

The best thing of all is how little electricity it uses. I tested the usage compared to my old Samsung and it used three quarters less electricity. I saved enough money on the price that I bought the extended warranty and a blue-ray DVD player. I won’t ever leave the house again! (PS I know some of you think the extended warranty is a waste but for $84. and my previous experience with Samsung it’s worth it).

5 Stars Awsome TV
I bought the TV when it was $899 and it is awsome. The picture is fantastic and clear. I can understand how some people may say that it is blurry fuzzy, especially if you up close to it, which you shouldn’t. You should be viewing it at a distance. Also the “HD” channels I get from providers are never full 1080p so its not the best picture and I suppose could make it look blurry. But I hooked up my XBOX 360 and PC so far and the image quality is fantastic. I give 5 stars at least for now.
